Pitch a story
We welcome original pitches about theatre-making that give curious readers a clear idea to consider or try. A useful proposal starts with a real question, not a broad promise to cover everything about theatre.
What we welcome
Pitch ideas about scripts, performance, stagecraft, rehearsal or production. We are interested in explainers, comparisons, thoughtful accounts of a creative process and focused ideas for a particular kind of making occasion. Keep suggestions suitable for a general audience and away from hazardous techniques or specialist instructions.
What makes a strong pitch
Tell us the working angle, who might find it useful and what distinct idea the piece will leave with the reader. Mention the shape of the article and any important limits or sources it would need. Originality matters: a pitch should not simply repeat a familiar list of theatre tips.
How to propose it
Send your proposal through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include enough detail for us to understand the idea. Please do not send confidential material or assume that a pitch has been accepted until you receive a reply.
